The Serenelife egg chair is the one we recommend most often. After testing 5 chairs side by side, it stood out for three reasons: the stand stays stable, the cushion is genuinely comfortable, and the build quality holds up over time.
Most egg chairs in this price range use a thin-gauge steel stand that flexes when you shift your weight. The Serenelife stand is noticeably stiffer. The base is wide enough to sit on grass or uneven pavers without tipping. During our weight test at 265 lbs for 24 hours, we saw no flex at the weld points.
The PE rattan wicker is a synthetic material, which means it handles outdoor moisture better than natural rattan. It does not have the same premium feel as natural rattan, but it is more practical for anyone who wants to leave the chair out through a season.
